User Authentication
FileFox users are always authenticated upon each login and there are no persisting passwords. Authentication is possible using Google, Microsoft Office or Passwordless Email login.
Google Login
Users can log in with their Google account, which requires them to log in to their Google account first and then approve login to FileFox. Google will share your name, email address, language preference, and profile picture with FileFox.
Microsoft Office Login
Users can log in with their Microsoft account, which requires them to log in to their Microsoft account first and then approve log in to FileFox. Microsoft will share your name, email address, and profile picture with FileFox.
Passwordless Email Login
This is a multi-factor authentication that requires a user to input a one-time password received via email that must be entered to log in to the application. If a user chooses to authenticate through their email, they will receive a unique code to their email that's generated per attempt and be required to enter it to authenticate, which provides a simple and effective way to increase security and ensure the safety of user assets. Passwordless login shares only your email address with FileFox.
FileFox Database Storage
The FileFox database stores only general user data and information that is essential for the operation of the application.
This includes information, such as: User Information, Mapping Rule Information, Upload Page Information and Activity Logs.
User Information
User information helps FileFox identify the current user who is accessing and running the application.
User information, includes:
User email address
Name (Optional)
Profile picture (Optional)
Mapping Rule Information
Mapping rules are formulas and settings that are similar to macro rules in Excel that inform FileFox how to transform upload data. These rules are codes written in FileFox and do not contain data uploaded by the user.
For example, a rule could be to add the column "Tax" to the column "Net amount". The program then knows to add the column "Tax" to the column "Net amount" in the upload file, which then generates a new file that can be downloaded by the user.
Mapping information includes:
Mapping name
Rules and transformation logic
Creation date
Email of the mapping owner
Upload Page Information
Upload Pages are dedicated page URLs that users define to transform their data. The data is uploaded client side and transformed by FileFox with the set rules. The data is not sent or stored anywhere within or outside of FileFox.
Upload Page information includes:
Description of upload page
System defined URL for the upload page
Email addresses of Users with access to upload page
Mapping rules to be used by upload page
Activity Logs
In order for FileFox to appropriately keep track of usage for billing, the program monitors user login and upload counts.
Activity logs include:
User login dates and times
User upload dates and times
Invites to other users
Number of file generations
